| (1) Worship |
 |
We are called to worship the Lord because He is worthy of all of our praise and worship.
We can only accomplish the things that God has set before us when we learn to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength.
Our members are encouraged to spend time every day in personal quiet time of prayer and studying the Bible.
The Church demonstrates publicly our love for God when we spend time praising and worshiping in corporate worship each week.
(Deuteronomy 6:5;
Psalm 95:6-7;
Matthew 22:37;
Mark 12:30;
Revelation 4:11)
|
| (2) Teach |
 |
Jesus commands us to make disciples of all men through the teaching of His Word.
All of our members are encouraged to study the Bible personally, in small groups, and in congregational Bible Studies, and then apply these Scriptural truths in our daily lives.
God has given all believers spiritual gift(s), a unique personality, different life experiences, and special training or education to enable us to accomplish the task of sharing the love of Christ with a lost and dying world.
(Deuteronomy 6:6-9;
Psalm 119:11,105;
Mark 16:15;
Ephesians 2:10;
Ephesians 4:11-13;
2 Timothy 3:16-17)
|
| (3) Outreach |
 |
We are called to reach the world starting in our "Jerusalem" of Kemah, Clear Lake Shores and South Shore Harbour. Jesus commands us to make disciples and baptize them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Our members are encouraged to live Godly lives and to tell others how Jesus can change their lives for all eternity when they repent and believe in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit.
(Matthew 28:19-20;Acts 1:8)
|
| (4) Care |
 |
We are called to truly care for one another.
Jesus said we are to "love our neighbor as ourselves."
Anchor Baptist Church should model a Christ-like love that will point others to Jesus.
We need to love and encourage church members to reach out to those who are hurting or going through difficult times, with the compassion and love of Jesus.
(Matthew 22:39;
Matthew 25:34-45;
James 2:14-17;
1 John 3:17-18)
